Wreck-it Ralph 2 is coming to theaters this November. It has been 6 years since we’ve seen our favorite lug of a video game character grace the silver screen. And now Wreck-it Ralph is back but this time he’s had an upgrade.
Last we saw Ralph (John C Reilly) he was living in an old school arcade. While Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) was in an upgraded version of a classic arcade cabinet. Even 6 years ago, we were a little sad about Ralph’s uncertain future in a quickly chaining video game world.
This time around Ralph is brought into the online gaming world of 2018 through the use of an internet router.
Wreck-it Ralph was quickly a kids favorite. It combined so many things that kids love. It had video games, and racing, smashing with a hammer, aliens and loads of slap stick comedy.
Gal Gadot
Wreck-it Ralph 2, Ralph breaks the Internet is already being a hailed as a blockbuster. It has a star studded cast including Gal Gadot, Kristen Bell, Mandy Moore and on and on. Even the Disney princesses will be making a special appearance in Wreck-it Ralph 2.
Vanellope is perhaps THE modern day Disney princess that truly breaks the mold. Sure, she’s a princess, but nothing about her says carbon copy Disney princess, including her happy ending. Vanellope is a fighter. She’s rough, and rugged. She’s determined and a spitfire. She doesn’t wait around for anyone to save her. She is a save herself kind of princess. This doesn’t mean that she’s arrogant and doesn’t take help from her friends, it means that she doesn’t follow. She leads and walks side by side with her friends and allies.
Vanellope’s got spunk
Vanellope is a character that could have waited for her knight in shining armor to save her from the bullying and evils of her life. But, nope! She fights back. She never gives up. And we love her for it. She has a level of street smarts and snarkiness that is lacking in most of the other Disney princesses, making her a true original.
Because of Vanellope’s spunk and go get em attitude, it is no surprise that we find stars like Gal Gadot in Wreck-it Ralph 2. This time she appears as leather clad high stakes race car driver. And who could truly challenge a character like Vanellope except Wonder Woman herself.
The Disney princesses show up in Wreck-it Ralph 2, but this time they are more down to earth and modern. They sport a casual look with sweat pants and pig out on junk food.
While we still don’t know a lot about the upcoming movie, we do know that Vanellope and Ralph are going to be stepping into entirely new territory from the old world of gaming and I’m sure the culture shock they introduce will be full of obvious and subtle jokes making this movie enjoyable for both kids and adults.
